The Muggle and the Witch Chp.5The Muggle and the Witch
Articles of Mutation
Lily never saw much of Vivian after that and when she did the girl always bit her tongue and kept her distance. Lily never knew if Vivian ever put the pieces together and figured out her true identity or if she was just plain scared of her now. The bruising around her once small white nose spoke for itself. Lily found herself serving a couple of detentions for what she did, followed by a threat of suspension. She didn't care, Vivian had it coming.
About a week later in her muggle political science class their professor passed out a science article that had been recently issued in a scientific muggle magazine. It was an article about discoveries in genetic mutation and how it could be used to severely alter one's genetic spectrum, if not create an entire new creature.
Lily was unsure why she found the article so interesting. It played with dark thoughts and emotions in her mind, triggering something that she had long feared. But sh

Part One:For the Imprisoned
There he was. Trapped like a rat, fetters around his wrists and ankles. The dark prison that held him oppressed his body and spirit. He knew he was needed elsewhere. England needed him, the poor needed him, especially the fair Marian, plump with child, needed Robin hood.
He knew this and it hung heavy on his heart and mind. He searched his thoughts for a plan to escape to those who needed him. Yet the manacles where tight and strong, the walls thick and foolproof. Like the sheriff had said only hours earlier, "The only time you will see the light of day again is when you march to your execution."
He tried again and again to break the chains that held him. But no matter the strength or the will he held within the effort remained futile. He eventually tired out, placed his fate in the hands of chance, and prayed that his beloved Marian would not give birth to a child t

Lily waited for the boy called Eric outside of the classroom, for the first time in weeks she was excited about something. She finally met someone who was like her, an outsider. Something told her that he came from her neck of the woods, the wizardry community. But she knew she couldn't say it outright she had to be clever and do something to make him say he was a wizard.
It wasn't long till Eric met up with her and they immediately started talking about whatever subject came to their heads. The first thing he asked her was why an English girl like her was studying at a school no one knew or cared about across the Atlantic.
"My father moved our family here so we would be safe from the fighting, he didn't want me growing up and going to school surrounded by violence. This wasn't the ideal place for me to study, but it was the best we could get for now," she answered, longing for the Hogwarts castle that she never knew.
"What fighting?" as

i had memorized the
sounds of silence,
i couldn't help but relish it.
no longer had i known
the sounds of folk
and scent of mocha-
you became nothing more
than an echo of the laughter
i so desperately needed to hear again.
then the echoes got louder,
bouncing ferociously off the walls
to be made manifest
i walked into your room
expecting exactly what i found-
an unmade bed,
and an empty beer
(the one that you insisted you needed
just days ago).
i pressed my nose
into the pillow
for incense and cologne and starbucks
to penetrate my mind
and thinking fervently
i already know
what a clean sheet smells like."
how strong an aftershock can be,
